Private DNS and connection conflict troubleshooting
Short answer: If CityLink Global shows connected but websites or apps do not load, first check Android Private DNS, browser secure DNS, other proxy tools, and local network settings.
When this applies
- The app shows connected, but the browser keeps loading or reports a DNS error.
- Some websites load while others fail to resolve or load slowly.
- Changing routes does not help, but changing networks or restarting the device briefly helps.
- Private DNS, secure DNS, proxy software, or network acceleration tools were changed recently.
Troubleshooting steps
- Disconnect CityLink Global and confirm the original Wi-Fi or mobile network works.
- On Android, search system settings for Private DNS and set it to automatic or off.
- In Chrome, Edge, or another browser, temporarily set secure DNS to system default.
- Close other proxies, accelerators, or old connectivity tools that may take over networking.
- Reconnect CityLink Global and try a different route for comparison.
- Record device model, system version, browser name, route name, and error screenshot if the issue continues.
Team usage note
For teams that access admin panels, CRM systems, advertising accounts, or cloud services, keep device network settings consistent. If a system uses IP allowlisting, use a stable dedicated route or static IP plan and keep change records.
