Slow connection troubleshooting
Short answer: Speed can be affected by local network quality, route distance, peak-time load, and the target service. Try another route, use a stable network, and reduce background traffic.
Common causes
- Weak or congested Wi-Fi, or weak mobile coverage.
- The selected route is far from the user or under higher load at the moment.
- Other apps are using heavy upload or download bandwidth.
- The device recently switched between Wi-Fi and mobile data.
- The target website or app is slow independently of CityLink Global.
Troubleshooting steps
- Switch to another route. Prefer a route closer to your location or recommended in the app.
- Use stable Wi-Fi when possible, or compare with mobile data.
- Pause background transfers such as system updates, cloud sync, and large downloads.
- Disconnect and test local internet performance to check whether the local access network is the bottleneck.
- Close other proxies or connectivity tools.
- If only one app is slow, compare with other apps or websites and try another route.
Need support?
If multiple routes and networks remain much slower than the same local network before connecting, contact support with route name, network type, device system, and approximate time.
